On August 8, the Decarbonization Seminar, initiated by Dr. Abdul Bagir, Energy Advisor to the Ministry of Oil, and hosted by the Training and Development Directorate, was successfully held at the Iraqi Ministry of Oil. EBS Petroleum Company was invited to attend and introduce the company's carbon emission reduction measures and future low-carbon development plans. Mr.Tang Junlei, Deputy Dean of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Southwest Petroleum University, was also invited to introduce China's technological innovations in this field and analyze the opportunities and challenges faced by the Iraqi oil industry based on its current status.

This seminar aimed to discuss international decarbonization policies, new technology applications, and the economics of decarbonization. The Energy Advisor to the Ministry of Oil expressed great interest in the practices and experiences of China's oil industry and enterprises in carbon reduction and hoped to further strengthen technical exchanges and discussions in the future to jointly promote environmental protection and energy transition in Iraq.
