On October 24, the opening ceremony of the second batch of students of ZhenHua Oil Scholarship Program, as well as the first local Iraqi employee training session was held at Southwest Petroleum University in Chengdu. Company leaders Lu Lize, Yang Han, Chairman of Anton Oilfield Service Group’s Board of Directors Luo Lin, and Secretary of the Party Committee of Southwest Petroleum University Zhang Liehui attended the event. Attendees also included a total of 30 students from the scholarship program and 16 trainees from the East Baghdad Oilfield project.

Lu Lize congratulated and welcomed the Iraqi students studying in China and the trainees in his speech. He expressed gratitude to the leaders, faculties, and staffs from Southwest Petroleum University for their support to the program, as well as Anton  Group, who is responsible for the short-term training of Iraqi employees. He encouraged the students and trainees to become contributors to the construction of Iraq's petroleum industry and the high-quality development of the East Baghdad Oilfield project, promoters of the integration of Chinese and Iraqi civilizations, and inheritors and developers of friendship between China and Iraq in the new era.

Luo Lin expressed in his speech that Anton Group and ZhenHua Oil have close cooperation in Iraq. The two sides have signed a partnership agreement for research institutes. He hoped that this training for Iraqi employees will further promote talent exchange and cooperation between the two parties and cultivate more professional and technical talents for Iraq.

Zhang Liehui expressed gratitude to ZhenHua Oil for its long-term support for the construction and development of the university. He pointed out that the two sides have continued to deepen pragmatic cooperation, sign strategic cooperation agreements, and have achieved fruitful results in scientific research, talent training, and engineering technology centers. He hoped that the students and trainees will cherish this opportunity to study hard, improve their professional skills, experience the charm of Chinese civilization, and become ambassadors and bridges for cultural exchanges between China and Iraq.

Ayad Fouad and Mohammed Abd Kareem spoke on behalf of the second batch of students and trainees, expressing their commitment to studying expertise, experiencing Chinese culture, and making positive contributions to the development of Iraq's petroleum industry and cultural exchanges between China and Iraq.
